October 23rd, 2006
University of Florida junior Angie McGinnis was named the Southeastern Conference Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
The 5-foot-11 setter posted her third career triple-double - also the third in UF history - leading the Gators to a sweep of Georgia on Sunday when she recorded 10 kills, 41 assists and 14 digs. This was the second triple-double of the season for McGinnis, but her first doing so in three games.
During the two victories last week, McGinnis totaled 82 assists, averaging 13.67 per game, while averaging 2.67 kills per game and hitting .321 for the weekend.
This is the second time this season McGinnis has been recognized as the SEC's Player of the Week, with the first coming on August 28 after leading Florida to the Aquafina Invitational title.
