Triple Double for Angie McGinnis in sweep of Georgia

Junior setter Angie McGinnis notched the third triple-double in school history with 41 assists, 14 digs and 10 kills in leading #7 Florida to a 3-0 (30-16, 30-23, 30-12) sweep over Georgia before a crowd of 2,002 Sunday afternoon at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center.
"Today, the Gators brought their 'A' game," UF head coach Mary Wise said. "The team really performed well in so many different areas. The offensive had 62 kills in three games, as well as 62 digs. The only stat from this hard-to-please coach that we didn't dominate was the blocking, but there were so many other good things that happened. Angie McGinnis had a triple-double in three games - that is special."
Florida (18-2 overall, 11-1 SEC) remained in sole possession of first place in the SEC standings with the victory, which was the Gator's 10 consecutive win, while improving to a perfect 42-0 all-time against Georgia in the Mary Wise era.
Florida ended the contest with more kills (62-24), aces (6-2), digs (62-45) and blocks (4-2) and UF out-hit Georgia .372-.063.
McGinnis tallied her second triple-double this season and the third of her career, but Sunday's was her first in a three-game match.
Two other Gators also collected double-doubles, with Hampton tallying a match-high 15 kills on .394 hitting in addition to digging 12 balls to record her 23rd career double-double, while freshman libero Elyse Cusack led both teams with 17 digs to go along with a career-high 10 assists for her first collegiate double-double. Killingsworth added 14 kills, with six of those coming in the final game.
Florida will continue SEC action with a mid-week contest at Auburn on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. (ET). The contest will be aired on Sun Sports and broadcast on WRUF-AM 850 and www.GatorZone.com.
