Spring events are shaping up

Coach Mary Wise was selected to coach the USA Women's National Volleyball A2 Team; she'll have familiar company as both Marcie Hampton and Kisya Killingsworth also made the team. The A2 team serves as a secondary USA national team comprised of top collegiate players from around the nation. The team will travel to New Orleans for training from May 22-26 before taking part in the US Open Championships on May 27-30.

In addition, the UF Volleyball has announced their 2006 spring competition schedule. Practice begins February 27th with opening weekend slated to begin on March 25th when the Gators face in-state rivals Miami and Division II powerhouse Barry University. Florida will take their show on the road the following week against Georgia Tech before returning home for a dual match against Minnesota and Virginia. The team finishes off their spring schedule with a trip to Houston to take part in the inaugural Texas Tornado's tournament - an event filled with 12 Division I schools in attendance.
