Florida to host 1st and 2nd Rounds of NCAA

 

The NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Committee announced today the 64-team field for the 2005 NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship. Florida, seeded #8 for the tournament, will host Florida Atlantic (29-2) on Thursday, December 1st at the O'Connell Center. Kansas State (20-10) will take on the Florida A&M (22-5) in the other pairing, with the victors of each to play on Friday, December 2nd.

 

While the Big 12 led all conferences with seven teams selected, the SEC was right behind with 6 teams in the field. Tennessee was seeded #15 and will be playing in the Penn State Regional with LSU and Arkansas. Alabama takes on Ohio to start the Palo Alto Regional while the Kentucky Wildcats will face UCLA in the other half of the Omaha bracket.

 

Though Nebraska lost their final match of the season to Texas, a 5-game thriller, the NCAA Selection Committee seeded them #1 and host of the Omaha Regional. Click here for more information on the Tournament!
