SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll

Marcie Hampton, Kari Klinkenborg and Angie McGinnis were each named to the 2005 Southeastern Conference Freshman Academic Honor Roll as announced by the league office Thursday.

The trio helped push Florida's total to 63 recipients, which was the second-highest total in the league. In addition, the Gators tied for the most volleyball honorees with three. Coupled with Florida's seven fall SEC Academic Honor Roll winners, the Gators had 10 student-athletes earn SEC distinction in 2004-05 - the most in the league.

Hampton, who was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 2004, is pursuing Journalism as a major as is Klinkenborg. McGinnis, the 2004 SEC Freshman of the Year, is planning an Elementary Education major.
