USA Women's National Teams - 2005 World Grand Prix (China)
June 26th, 2005
The USA Women's National Volleyball team has finished their run at the Pan American Games, earning 4th place and automatically qualifying the team to compete in the 2006 World Grand Prix. Jane Collymore has been a consistent force for the USA team, scoring at least 10 points in each of their victories, including a team-high 15 against Canada.
The team has now traveled to China to participate in the 2005 World Grand Prix. Once again the Gators make their mark as Jane finished the first match with a team-high 10 points. The effort was not enough, though, as the National Team fell to the Netherlands 0-3. The ladies evened their record with a victory over Thailand on Saturday, with Collymore getting 5 points off of 4 kills and 1 block. The team was unable to continue it's momentum, however, losing 0-3 to China in the final match for the weekend. Team USA now travels to Korea to continue in their second week of match play.
