Final Spring Match - Georgia Tech

Rising junior Jane Collymore finished with 29 kills, while redshirt sophomore Amber McCray added 26 kills in leading the University of Florida volleyball team past Georgia Tech in a pair of matches to conclude spring practice Saturday at the Lemerand Center. The Gators easily captured the first match in the morning session, winning 3-0 (30-15, 30-21, 30-19). Florida then came back to topple the Yellow Jackets in three closer games during the afternoon session with scores of 30-20, 30-23, 30-26.

"From a confidence standpoint, it was a great way to end the spring," Florida coach Mary Wise said. "This was as complete a performance as we've had all spring. We were solid with our ball handling and were physical at the net. It was a perfect way to end the spring because we were firing on all cylinders. "During the spring, we've seen huge improvements on the right side and at several other positions," Wise said. "Rhian Davis and Angie McGinnis have both had great springs. Marcie Hampton looks like a different player physically than she was last year. Jane Collymore put up All-American numbers today. Kisya Killingsworth has a chance to be the next great middle blocker here at Florida. We graduated four seniors from last season's team and we've got only one position with uncertainty heading into the fall - that's a pretty good sign."
